Why is Stretching Is Essential for Coping with Chronic Pain

What does it mean to stretch it out? Well, if you are a runner, you stretch out your hamstrings to lengthen them. If you sit an awful lot, you need to stretch out your muscles to prevent them from becoming short and tight.

If you have a goal, you often need to stretch beyond your comfort level to obtain it. It may mean learning new skills or working harder than you have before. It may mean changing things up. Sometimes, stretching requires you to reach out for help.

No achievement, no goal, is ever accomplished entirely alone. When you have a chronic condition or support someone with a chronic illness, it may seem as if the stretch is too great or too far to make.

Chronic conditions frequently make things seem incredibly hard or impossible. Nothing is impossible though, it may require us to do things differently or take more time to achieve them, but it is not impossible. Not when we stretch out for help, not when we allow others to show us a way of achieving what we want or dream.
